Emanations (1997-1999)
These pictures, made in museums, deliberately reject the characteristic optical clarity of most photographs in favor of vagueness and suggestion. The distinction between objects and backgrounds is blurred. Light dissolves the edges of things. Evocation and intimation are more important than description.
